Who is Eligible for the BISP Program?
Benazir Income Support Program is an economic and social security program. The government of Pakistan has qualified the country’s most vulnerable individuals and families for this program.
The poor and deserving persons, widows, orphans, children with disabilities, and persons affected by natural calamities or emergencies are eligible for the BISP program. And people who are very poor and have a monthly income of less than 20 thousand rupees. Those who do not have their own house are also eligible for this program.
Eligibility Criteria
The BISP 8171 program is not designed for all people of Pakistan. Rather, it is designed for families and individuals from the weaker and lower-income classes. Hence, only those families who meet the given criteria are eligible for the BIS program.
Eligibility criteria are as follows:
- Families with a poverty score of less than 20
- Families whose monthly income is less than 15 thousand
- Families who have no property in their name
- Only those family members who do not have a government employee are included in this program

- Senior citizens above 60 years of age are also eligible
