Responsibilities of ECP
There are many responsibilities to ECP. Some main responsibilities of ECP are mentioned below:
- Registering all the political parties and candidates from the entire country. Every person who is willing to stand and fight in any type of election should be treated equally.
- Ensure that all the candidates who are willing to stand in the election are eligible and telling the truth? This purpose is fulfilled by making inquiries.
- Assign all parties and candidates with unique symbols to be used as their identity when people will vote for them.
- The appointment of qualified staff as District returning officers, returning officers, presiding officers, polling officers, and assistant presiding officers is also ECP’s responsibility.
- Announcement of polling stations.
- Announcement of Elections. Including General Elections and Local Government Elections both.
- Making the election procedure transparent and un-interfered by higher authorities so that every Party and candidate will be satisfied.
- Announcement of the Result.
